As a family-owned business, the team at First Genesis Inc. takes great pride in our dedication to environmental sustainability for both our present and future generations. In 2020, we worked closely with our factory owner to develop a sustainable poly packaging line for food and produce, resulting in the Genesis-HDR2 (G-HDR2) Poly film substrate, a product that’s environmentally conscious and sustainable while still being of high quality and affordable. To further our commitment, in 2021, we partnered with Sun Sugar Farms to offer Sustainable Produce Containers (SPC), a paperboard alternative to PET clamshells, in local Canadian markets. With our G-HDR2 and SPC cardboard clamshells, we provide both plastic and paper options for customers to make sustainable choices.

We continuously strive to improve and add value for our customers, which led us to adopt Landfill Bio-Degradable Additives that break down plastic with microbes within landfills, eliminating the need for UV light, water, and oxygen that Oxo-degradable additives require. These additives can be applied to all of our produce pouches, sleeves, and bags. Our recommendation is to combine our G-HDR2 pouches with additives due to their sustainable, recyclable properties. Customers can rest assured that our products will be disposed of in a sustainable way, regardless of how they choose to do so.

As proud members of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) and How2Recycle (H2R), we are committed to labelling our products consistently and promoting sustainable disposal practices. We understand the importance of protecting the environment and are dedicated to doing our part.
